Homemade Bounty Chocolates (3 Ingredients)March 12th, 2017
Don’t be a bounty…eat them 😉
Bounty Chocolates are one of my favourites but I’m aware they’re not exactly a snack I should be having often. I decided to make my own and they’re incredible – I would even go as far to say that they’re better than the Cadbury’s original. Best thing is there’s only 3 ingredients (and one optional), which is a lot better than Cadbury’s roughly 20 ingredient chocolate.
Ingredients (makes 12 minis)
- Desiccated Coconut (200g)
- Dark Chocolate – Family sized barÂ (Lindt’s 80% is good)Â
- Light Condensed Milk (200g) (It has less sugar in it)
- Granola (optional)
Place your 200g of Desiccated Â coconut into a bowl, pour in your condensed milk, 200g is the right amount, as you mix it you’ll want to put in more but it’s enough, keep mixing, it will still seem a bit dry. Place the coconut mix in a freezer and leave for 1 hour (mine was set after around 30 mins).
Heat a bowl of water on the highest temperature and place a shallow bowl on top and place your dark chocolate into the bowl gradually piece by piece, turn down the heat half way.
Whilst the chocolate is melting Â and an hour has passed take your coconut mixture out and shape them into small thumb-shaped blobs.
Place the coconut blobs back into the freezer for 5 mins
Keep mixing until the chocolate has melted.
Take your coconut blobs out, cover them in chocolate and you can try sprinkling some granola on some of them.
Once covered (I don’t put chocolate at the bottom as it’s sweet enough), place your finished bounties into the freezer for about 10 mins and you’re ready to eat.
